Hytera Product Update – Smart Dispatch “Plus”
Hytera Smart Dispatch has had an upgrade, and it’s now called Smart Dispatch Plus. Here’s everything you need to know.
Hytera have recently upgraded its DMR dispatching solution, Smart Dispatch, to a new version called Smart Dispatch Plus.
Smart Dispatch Plus dispatching system is developed on the Hytera digital platform in compliance with the ETSI DMR open standard, and designed for efficient communication, management and dispatching of professional users.
With its modular design and supporting VoIP, Smart Dispatch Plus delivers you an enhanced dispatching and deployment platform with tailored communications, networking and control centre.
Hytera Smart Dispatch Plus helps professional users to enhance operational efficiency by utilising several key features, including:
- All types of voice call – support all types of calls including private calls, group calls
and all calls to meet your various despatching needs. - Voice recording and playback – record all voice calls in network. Easy search and playback.
- Real-time and historical tracking – track the location of radios in real time and display their routes on the map. Record and retrieve the history of radio tracks and replay them on the map.
- Support for multiple map engines – Choose your preferred map based on your specific usage requirements. Supported maps include Google Maps, Google Offline Map, and Open Street Map.
- Emergency alarm – When an emergency is triggered, the highlighted emergency message will pop up at the top of despatcher workspace, accompanied by a siren sound.
- Geofencing alarm – Define working areas on the map for radios and send alarm message to radios once they move out of the preset areas.
- Over-the-Air Programming – Remotely program various parameters on one or multiple radios simultaneously. These parameters include radio ID, radio alias, color code, slot, TX and RX frequency, RX group list, and TX contact name.

Smart Dispatch (the previous version of Smart Dispatch Plus) has been discontinued and is no longer available to order. Below are some FAQs which contain useful information for existing users of Smart Dispatch:
Why was Smart Dispatch discontinued?
Hytera identifieds the need to produce a new version of Smart Dispatch – a product which is 10 years old. The creation of an updated version fixes known issues, enhances functionality and usability, and provides a more appropriate and future-proofed DMR dispatching solution for users of Hytera two-way radios.
What does this mean for Smart Dispatch systems which my customers currently use?
Existing Smart Dispatch systems will continue to work as they currently do. However, you can no longer add licences or new devices to an existing system, and you can no longer update the software.
How much does Smart Dispatch Plus cost?
The Basic Package for Smart Dispatch Plus (1 x server, 25 x terminals, 1 x client, 1 x gateway, 2 x dispatch mobiles, 1 x repeaters) costs £2,050.00 + VAT, and requires a USB licence dongle (part code 50090000000048) which costs £30.00 + VAT. What do I do if I need to add new devices onto an existing Smart Dispatch system?
In order to add devices, you would need to upgrade your system to Smart Dispatch Plus. Your customers can upgrade an existing Smart Dispatch system to Smart Dispatch Plus for £630.00 + VAT (see details in the updated Hytera Price Book).
Do we lose our licenses if we upgrade?
The upgrade carries across all existing licenses to the new Smart Dispatch Plus system. You can also export all contacts and groups and import into the new system, saving significant setup time and costs.
How easy is the upgrade to Smart Dispatch Plus?
The setup takes around 10-15 minutes. The PC specification rquirements at the same as the previous Smart Dispatch software (full details in the Smart Dispatch Plus product brochure), except the display resolution which needs to be 1920p x 1080p.
